Job Description Job Description Staff Accountant Location: Salt Lake City, UT Compensation: $65,000 – $90,000 base salary (competitive within the SLC market) Employment Type: Full-time Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the finance team with day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Reporting: Prepare and post journal entries; maintain general ledger accounts accurately. Reconciliations: Perform timely reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers. Month-End Close: Support month-end and quarter-end close activities including accruals and adjustments. Financial Analysis: Analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances, or discrepancies. Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments to gather data and resolve accounting issues. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or private) preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Attributes Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage) CPA or working toward certification is a plus Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement savings plan with employer match Professional development support
