POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Engagement Manager works to create and sustain a n
environment where all staff are fully empowered and encouraged to
create the best working environment for themselves and the best
experiences for our guests . Responsible for administering,
organizing, developing, conducting, tracking, reporting on and
enhancing current experiences and opportunities for staff.
This position adds value to our resort by identifying, structuring,
and partnering with others to solve complex problems; fosters
understanding of, and commitment to make it easier and more
enjoyable for resort staff to achieve great things.
This position is responsible for the following job results -
STAFF ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION
- Develops actionable and targeted engagement activities to boost
employee morale, productivity, staff rewards and recognition to
foster better retention
- Responsible for researching, designing, implementing, and
continuously improving companywide communications, programs,
activities, and events that reinforce the mission, values, and
culture Deer Valley Resort and Alterra Mountain Company
- Serve as culture and engagement brand champion, distilling and
synthesizing data and information from across the Resort to develop
a range of communications and materials to improve employee
experience and engagement
- Acts as the liaison for Human Resources to work with any
conflict resolution issues
STAFF RELATIONS
- Focus on solutions for workplace concerns ensuring Deer Valley
acts in the best interests of our staff and our values
- Point of contact for leadership and staff when situations arise
that are not able to be solved through standard processes of
solution-based review and discussion within a department
LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
- In collaboration with the HR Specialist:
- Partner with supervisors, managers, and senior leaders to
facilitate trainings , department retreats, etc.
- Works with the roll out of Deer Valley and companywide staff
surveys, organizes results and communicates to various levels of
leadership team in the resort
- Creates a development based culture , providing opportunities
for staff to grow

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL , AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor s degree in related field (business, economics,
education, finance, human resources, management, or psychology); or
equivalent combination of education and relevant working
experience
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years in leadership role s with a demonstrated focus on
building team and individuals skills and abilities
- 3+ years in Staff, People, Culture, and/or HR department
roles
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently and manage
multiple task assignments in a fast paced and quickly changing
environment
- Must possess and operate at the highest level of
confidentiality, credibility, integrity, and professionalism
- Ability to create and sustain productive cross functional
partnerships with employees at all levels, including leaders,
manager, subject matter experts and across the company
- Ability to work various hours, weekends, and all major holidays
during peak winter season
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including expert
presentation and public speaking ability
- Proficient in use of technology including Office365,
specifically Outlook, Excel & Word, knowledge of social media ,
Internet, desktop publishing and database management software
programs. Can quickly learn those applications not known.
