New Beginnings Behavioral Health is a dynamic and collaborative
adolescent mental health organization that exists to provide
structured therapeutic programs for girls and boys 11-17 years old
suffering from severe emotional disturbance(s), including
depression, anxiety, suicidality, etc. Within our treatment
programs we strive to provide our clients with the tools to cope
more effectively while on their journey towards mental
JOB SUMMARYHe/she shall have primary responsibility for
coordinating all mental health treatment services for clients of
the New Beginnings Residential and Day Treatment Programs.
Therapists will act in accordance with policies, procedures and
protocols established by Utah's standards of practice and
licensure. Therapists are responsible for implementing therapeutic
treatment plans, assessing problems and determining appropriate
types and methods of treatment, and implementing intervention
methodologies. In addition, therapists will act as a program
consultant to staff members with or without professional training;
functions in such areas as counseling, protective services, and
DUTIESTherapists will direct in the assessment, planning,
arranging, and implementing of psychosocial programs. Therapists
are responsible for the content of education and counseling
programs for both individual clients or groups of clients and
serves as liaison to community, individuals and groups as
appropriate. Therapists will review and evaluate recent clinical
data and interpret it to professionals, clients and families.
Therapists perform short term counseling and crisis intervention as
necessary and prepare psychosocial educational materials as needed
or required for group therapy. Therapists coordinate with clinical,
health education, community health and other staff members in the
provision of services to patients. Therapists provide referrals for
services needed and coordinate with other organizational entities
involved in psychosocial and mental health services for discharge
planning. Therapist use tests, measurements, and measurement scales
for general and specific assessments as well as objective client
criteria in the provision of services and evaluation procedures.
Therapists provide in-service presentations to staff as needed or
required. Therapists will health related educational presentations
to youth between the age of 11-17 in the residential and day
treatment settings. Assume other responsibilities as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCELicensed as Clinical
Social Worker, CMHC, MFT or similar in the state of Utah. A
Master's degree required. Experience in a mental health residential
treatment center preferred. Must be a self-starter, capable of
managing a client case load and clinical paperwork efficiently.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Therapists should have
familiarity with multicultural groups, previous work experience in
a multicultural setting also a plus. Therapists must be proficient
with various forms of technology, cell phones, EHR systems, online
databases, etc. Must be efficient with time and able to adhere to
strict established clinical timeframes.
