The Occupational Health Nurse position is a unique career

future.This position will fill a crucial role in our organization
by effectively being the first and primary care nurse for onsite
occupational health services. The occupational specialist role
serves our campus as the point of contact and expert for
occupational related injury care, case management, and working as a
liaison between the company and stakeholders such as our offsite
clinical partners, the insurance company, and others. The
occupational health specialist role directly supports the
environmental health and safety department by overseeing various
programs such as first aid CPR response and training, first report
of injury care and filing, proactive stakeholder engagement to
prevent injuries, and being a risk partner for proper case
management.You will make an impact by:
- Apply occupational nursing principles, directed toward
conserving the health of workers and participating as a key
position in the injury and illness prevention program.
- Responsible for providing appropriate assessments for
treatment, testing and managing employee recovery. As well as
- Ensure OSHA compliance to work related screenings and
surveillances programs.
- Injury and illness services: Evaluate and provide first aid
care to employees for work related injuries. Utilize expert
professional clinical judgment to determine level of seriousness
and arrange proper disposition of employees to a hospital,
appropriate physician(s), home or return to work. Respond to onsite
medical emergencies.
- Case Management: Collaborate with stake holders (EHS, Human
Resources, Legal and Risk Management) for assessment, planning and
coordination of activities to optimize injured workers successful
return to work. Maintain accurate clinical records, utilizing
approved medical and nursing formats, including use of an
Electronic Medical Record.
- Execute onsite work-related health screenings and medical
surveillance programs (e.g., respiratory protection, hearing
conservation, vision, chemical surveillances, etc.) based on Global
EHS Standards and site-specific criteria.
- Participate in health risk assessments, training,
investigations, ergonomic assessments and advice sessions.
Participate as an active member of the Injury Prevention
program.
- Provide guidance to and partner with stakeholders ([e.g.,
EH&S teams, Human Resources, Legal and Risk Management) to
encourage an integrated team approach on case management
- Maintain medical supply service levels for first aid care and
treatment supplies. Regular monitoring of expiration dates and
ordering of new supplies as needed.
- Assist with or lead the creation, administration and/or
documentation of health programs, including injury prevention,
treatment and management of cases.
- Other incidental duties as requested by manager.What you'll
need (Required):
- Bachelor's Degree in a Nursing field, 3 years of previous
related experienceWhat else we look for (Preferred):
- Master's Degree in a Nursing
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing
- Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals or groups
of employees, including managers and front line employees to
explain and answer questions about occupational health, wellness
and case management.
- Strong critical thinking, collaborative and administrative
capabilities, substantial nursing expertise, and demonstrated
knowledge of professional nursing principles with strong
communication skills.
- Proven verbal and written communications to effectively
interact with and talk to small and large groups of employees,
including managers, to explain and answer questions about
occupational health and wellness programs.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, State of California and local
regulations, including worker's compensation laws and case
management experience. Able to develop a working knowledge of
manufacturing policies and procedures.
- Proficient with standard computer systems and applications in a
professional business setting. Ability to utilize computer programs
and software to analyze, document and present data and information.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including
inter-departmental teams and representing the organization on
specific projects
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic
protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate
control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as
well as to the protection of environment and prevention of
