Senior Product Quality Engineer (NRG Energy, Inc.

Validate design specifications, component specification, mechanical designs, thermal designs for manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Develop hardware quality and reliability validation test plans that outline quality standards, testing methodologies, and production quality control measures specific to hardware design.

Ensure these plans are aligned with internal customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Facilitate the testing of prototypes to assess their functionality, reliability, and durability.

Identify design flaws or potential areas for improvement based on test results and feedback.

Use Python & BASH in linux environment to setup testing scripts, dashboards, and data monitoring for test.

All testing must be remote access and automated data collection.

Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis to identify failure modes for failed samples.

Lead DFMEA risk assessments to identify potential quality issues within the design phase.

Implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent these issues from affecting the final product.

Utilize input from existing products.

Lead design reviews to ensure that quality standards and requirements are integrated into product designs from the beginning.

Lead discussions with suppliers and component manufacturers to ensure the quality and reliability of materials and parts used in prototypes and final designs.

Evaluate supplier quality systems and processes to ensure they meet design specifications.

Provide expert advice on quality standards and best practices in hardware design while collaborating with Product Managers, Electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, rf engineers, material engineers, compliance engineers, manufacturing test engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality considerations are integrated throughout the design and development process.
