Cox Automotive is seeking a Product Strategy Manager for a full-time position to sit at our Draper, UT or Burlington, VT or Mission, KS or Atlanta, GA locations.

The Product Strategy Manager is a member of the Dealer Software Solutions (DSS) products team, responsible for driving validation and refinement of our adjacency growth strategies.

Supporting the exploration, definition, and ideation of strategic products and concepts by conducting research, exploring current activity in the segment, and identifying new product opportunities based on unmet needs. In order to determine and validate opportunities that are desirable, feasible and viable, this role will own and manage proof of concept projects. In working through these complex, and often ambiguous problems, this role will influence the future products of the organization.

The role will support the Director of Product Strategy Dealer Software Solutions as we refine and evolve the product strategies to support the shifting software/marketing needs of car dealers. Dealer Software Solutions offers a suite of solutions for dealers supporting marketing, CRM, ERP (DMS), and auto dealer workflow solutions offered by brands including VinSolutions, Dealer.com, DealerTrack DMS, and Xtime.

Your Role:

  • Focused on opportunities to optimize franchise dealer service (fixed ops) and operational workflows
  • Monitors and anticipates short, medium, and long-term market trends, climates, and needs that disrupt the automotive space
  • Supports planning and response to anticipated/forecasted disruption and recommend practical solutions when raising new concepts and issues
  • Develops credibility and manage strong client relationships while establishing yourself as a trusted advisor
  • Works to define and deliver proof of concepts for minimum viable products, services, and outputs that are based on hypothesis and opportunity assumptions - prototype, refine, and iterate
  • Navigate efforts using design thinking, jobs-to-be-done and standard project management lifecycle practices based on a client-centric approach
  • Defines measurable success criteria and key performance indicators (KPI) to determine actionable steps in project lifecycle along with what success looks like according to key stakeholders
  • Conducts ongoing sessions focused on client discovery to explore opportunities, product insights, and share information using clear and concise methods with an eye toward actionable recommendations
  • Defines and communicate business needs, technology elements, business priorities, and project scope expectations
  • Work independently, as well as leads cross-functional teams, to achieve complete assessments, validate needs and prove out new products and services for our business.


  • 5 years of related experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or other related field
  • 3 years working in or supporting franchise dealers preferably with extensive exposure to dealership back office and or the service/parts departments
  • Explore new concepts and technologies with ambiguous details and minimal oversight and produce meaningful insights which can be applied to the automotive space
  • Skilled in developing roadmaps, business cases, and realization strategies to support recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas into component parts and communicate that vision clearly to a broad audience
