Should you require accommodations, please contact accomodation@thelivingplanet.com.Position:YouthandFamily ProgramsManagerReports To:Director of EducationPosition Scope:TheYFPMworks with LLPA Education Staff in a coaching and mentoring role to deliver high quality content in all programming.TheYFPMalso works closely with the other LLPA Education Leadership Team to further the mission of the aquarium throughout the state.During part of the year theYFPMwillmanagedirect reports involved in camps.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and execute all LLPAYouth and FamilyPrograms to include: Camps, TRP workshops, andYouthProvide leadership to any team members assigned to assist with theYouth and Family Programs execution, to include training and evaluation of team members.Answer inquiry emails and phone calls from teachers and other guests looking to plan participation in an aquariumYouth and Family Programs.Display and model excellence in presentation skills and be able to take the lead in presentations for applicable LLPAYouth and Family PMonitor accuracy, quality and effectiveness of relevant education programs by conducting comprehensive reviews, collecting data and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.Keep up to date with Utah State Education standards and other professional standards, such as Scouts,American Camp Association, etc.Ensure all LLPA TRP lessons correlate with current Utah State Core standards.Develop new (and update older) curriculum and content for all LLPAYouth and Family Programs.Assist with seasonal and annual reports for all education department grants.Attendeducationleadershipmeetings and any other meetings as assigned.Collaborate and work closely with other departments as assigned for project development.Attend professional development opportunities to improve education department capabilities. Out of state travel may be required.Collaborate with organizations outside of LLPA to create partnerships, expand program opportunities and enhance existing educational content.Participate in fundraising, public relations and the promotion of the organization as needed.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Education.Education:Bachelor`s degree in Biology, Zoology, Marine Science, Environmental Science, Education, or a related fieldProficiency in program development/evaluation; 5+ years of experience preferredExperience in curriculum development implementation for STEM programs preferredExperience in entertainment/hospitality venues (zoos, aquariums, theme parks) preferredFormal classroom teaching experience ispreferredCritical Skills/Competencies:Excellent oral and written communication skillsExtreme attention to detail and organizational skillsSuperior customer service skillsCapable of problem solving in time sensitive situationsStrong computer software/multimedia skills including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applicationsMaintain a working knowledge of all current LLPAYouth and FamilyPrograms, policies, and related industry standards, such as educational standards, professional certifications, etc.Ability to model outstanding work ethic and manage own schedule to include punctuality, dependability and outstanding time managementAbility to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills that motivate and inspire team membersAbility to maintain a team environment based on trust, open communication, and team cohesionPhysical Demands of the Job:This job requires extended periods of standing as well as extended periods of sitting with data entry. During occasional presentations, periods of high energy and enthusiasm are essential.Special Working Conditions:Job will primarily be in an office environment.
