Description:JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE:Faculty - Full Professors
are responsible for and are evaluated on teaching courses as
assigned (70%), Boyer Model scholarship (10%), and service (20%),
which may include participating in planning, assessing, and
strategizing as part of the Nursing department, and other duties as
assigned. An initial appointment as a Full Professor requires
evidence of having met the requirements for promotion to the Full
Professor rank set forth in the Faculty Handbook.ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:Full-time Professor (Any Rank, except as noted)All
faculty are expected to foster a Student Focused/Student Centered
Approach:
- Interact in a fair and impartial way with students.
- Support and assess student academic achievement.
- Motivate students to further their education and professional
development.
- Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where
students feel safe to learn and seek assistance when needed.
- Provide opportunities outside of class for students to get

- Enforce the college rules as published in the Student Handbook
and Joyce Catalog
- Confer with Asst. Provost of Student Affairs when students are
non-responsive or absent from class.
- Submit grades and records accurately and promptly in accordance
with the college grading policy and procedure.
- Report any course or college-related problems to the Department
Director or Chair of Nursing Programs.
- Comply with all requirements set forth in the Faculty

- Doctoral degree in nursing
- Unencumbered and active RN licensure in state of residence and
Utah OR a multistate compact license
- Active certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
- Active and unencumbered license as a Family Nurse Practitioner
in UT and home state (or ability to obtain UT FNP licensure)
- At least 3 years of experience as a full-time graduate faculty
member teaching FNP students in a role that required the full
spectrum of nurse educator knowledge and skills (time spent
teaching across graduate and undergraduate programs or an
entry-level MSN program does not meet this requirement)
- At least 3 years of full-time FNP practice experience or the
equivalent
- Experience leading or serving as a member of multiple graduate
nursing committees
- Extensive experience with curriculum and course development at
the graduate level
- Must qualify for rank of full professor at Joyce
University
- Must be willing to travel to Draper, UT for one week up to once
per semester for Skills and Simulation IntensivePreferred:
- Leadership experience in FNP education
- CNE or Holistic nursing certification
- A history of scholarly activity
- Experience with competency-based education
- Experience with nursing accreditation (ACEN
