Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Office Assistant-Construction on-site in the field office at our communities (Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Tooele Counties). Provide administrative support to the Construction Department.Candidate will be responsible for the flow of paperwork to and from the main office in Draper, contractors, and the field office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure that contractors' schedules are sent to them
  • Maintain division files. Keep filing current and create new files as needed
  • Make sure that all contractors have paperwork
  • Ensure all files and paperwork are brought back to the office
  • Ensure purchase orders are sent in a timely manner
  • Track and distrubute the production schedule
  • Maintain construction paperwork and supplies- order additional items as needed
  • Construction Department
  • Establish network to cities, counties, municipalities and public works departments
  • Update online construction schedules daily
  • Complete building permit applications based on construction schedule
  • Prepare, deliver and pick up additional permit applications for utilities or other services
  • Coordinate and secure the payment method to accompany additional permit applications
  • Deliver building permit applications to responsible municipality department
  • Prepare and check building plan packages for submittal
  • Ensure applicable project superintendent receives permits
  • Support the Construction Department with administrative duties
  • Assist other departments as schedule allows
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company Job Requirements:Education and/or Experience
    • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
    • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
    • Proficiency with MS Office and email Preferred Qualifications
      • Experience working in J.D. Edwards is a plus
      • Strong communication skills
